Steven Ponce, MACC, LCMHC, LPC (SC)

Steven Ponce, MACC, LCMHC, LPC (in SC) earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Asbury University and Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Prior to becoming a counselor, he served youth and families for 18 years.

Steven believes that each individual has a unique story and experiences and that the counselor’s role is to partner with clients to help them achieve their unique goals, heal from past hurts, and realize their truest selves. He primarily utilizes Person-Centered Psychotherapy; however, he appreciates and incorporates Psychodynamic, Existential, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy.

He works with children (ages 5+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He utilizes Child-Centered Play Therapy to assist children as they experience social, emotional, and relational challenges.

In working with adolescents and adults, his foundational orientation is Person-Centered Therapy, and he integrates techniques from Psychodynamic, CBT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. He uses an integrative approach to explore anxiety, spiritual/faith transitions, attachment concerns, career transitions, self-esteem, relationship concerns, grief and loss, and trauma.

His passion is to come along side clients on their unique life journeys and assist them as they discover themselves and heal.
