Grace Allen, MS, LCMHCA

Grace Allen, MS, LCMHCA is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Human Development. She graduated from The University of North Carolina Greensboro with a Masters Degree in Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Associate.

She has a passion for supporting children, families, and adolescents. She has experience working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, ADHD, divorce, and difficult life changes. Grace has worked with children with behavior concerns as well as peer difficulties.

Grace views both children and adolescents as being part of a larger context, and that understanding that context is an integral part of counseling. Parents or caregivers are a vital part of the counseling process, and she encourages them to take an active role in their child’s counseling experience. She prioritizes forming relationships with the children she works with, and also with their caregivers.

She applies a holistic view of her clients, taking their family, cultural, and societal contexts into account. She incorporates play, art, movement, song and dance into sessions, and works to provide developmentally appropriate interventions for each child. For younger children, she uses a child-centered play therapy approach to allow these clients to process in their own way. Grace believes all clients have immense potential for growth and is excited to walk beside them on their journey.
