Mackenzie Hawisher Brown, MA, LCMHCA is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina, working with adolescents and teens, adult women, and couples in various stages of their relationships.
She graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Mackenzie’s experience includes counseling pre-marital couples, dating couples, newly married couples, conflicted couples, spouses grieving betrayals (affairs, etc.), and individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, spiritual doubt and abuse, and family conflict. Mackenzie also works with adolescents 13 years of age and older, helping adolescents and teens move through life transition, friendship issues, self-esteem building, and other coming-of-age concerns.
Mackenzie primarily uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples. When working with individual clients, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Mackenzie desires to create a compassionate and safe space for all of her clients, helping them see their own resiliency. She incorporates Client-Centered Therapy throughout all sessions, in which she serves as a guide and support for clients in a non-directive approach. She believes the most healing and hope comes when a client has the freedom to take the reins of their own therapeutic process.
