Kristin Fisher, M.Ed., LCMHC enjoys working with adults who are feeling stuck with issues and relationships in their lives. She specializes in life transitions, self-worth, grief, anxiety, depression, women’s issues, and domestic abuse. She believes in addressing all parts of ourselves and that mind, body and spirit are essential for optimal mental health. She works from a strength-based perspective to focus on strengthening our sense of self, learning to view ourselves in a balanced and self-compassionate way, and that the trust connection developed in the therapeutic relationship is essential to growth.

Kristin received her master’s degree in Counseling and Development from George Mason University, and has worked in private practice as well as variety of mental health settings, including community mental health and residential and intensive substance abuse programs. Her theoretical approach incorporates interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Person-Centered Therapies.

Her experience includes post adoption adjustment, abuse recovery, trauma, support in established substance abuse recovery, parenting, and spiritual issues.

In her free time, she likes spending time with her family and pets, as well as being out in nature hiking and kayaking.
